A letter from the President,

Hello All,
 
    If you attended the annual meeting you heard me talk about sending out weekly or even several times a week emails to the membership to let them know where we are in the expansion/construction of our club.  A couple of weeks have passed since we broke ground and things are progressing  nicely.  The Foundation (footer, walls, and floor) are in and completed, the back door now has a new sidewalk and ramp into the building. We will soon be ready to start the framing of the building, with that said this is where the membership can really pitch in and help with the expansion. 
   
     Jim Ramundo has taken on the job of scraping all the interior textured ceilings (warm room) and tapping the sheetrock behind the brown paneling. Call Jim Ramundo if you can help him.   Jim Hoffman can use lots of help so I will try to keep everyone updated as to the schedule.  There will be lots of demolition work on the inside as we change the layout of the locker room and old office/storage rooms. We will need people to clean, paint, move items around, and just plain old helping hands.

 

    I can not stress enough that this project will need more than the help of handful of people.  We need as many people on hand as possible we are going to try and do a lot of this work on weekends.  If anyone is looking for something to do they can contact me directly 630-4299, I will let you know when and where you can be utilized, sweat equity folks is going to make or break this project.  Sweat Equity will be the difference between a good club and a great club come the fall curling season.   
    
    Everyone should check our web site as I have posted about 100 pictures up there of the project so far.

Want to get away and train? Great Northern Curling Getaway

Please take a look around the website as you will find invaluable information regarding our club.  Phase I of our building project is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2009. There will be an extension of the warm room and handicap access ramps added. Check out our building gallery to see pictures and keep tabs on our progress.

Individuals wishing to visit our club are encouraged to call the club, or send an e-mail and ask about scheduling a visit. We do not have open curling available as almost all the available ice time is booked with club competition or training. We have an open house in October and January; interested members can apply for membership at that time. You can find the dates and times of the open houses on our calendar. Free training is provided for the two weeks or so before the league competition begins.

We are affiliated with the Grand National Curling Club of America (GNCC), a confederation of 36 curling clubs in the northeastern United States, and the United States Curling Association (USCA), the national coordinating organization. The ACC (and each individual member) is a member of GNCC and the USCA. These groups sponsor competitions at the regional, national, international and Olympic levels.
